Stakeholders' Meeting Updates
ECSL remains committed to constantly improving and simplifying the electoral process in Sierra Leone. To achieve this goal, the Chief Electoral Commissioner and Chairman as well as the staff at ECSL engage national and international stakeholders regularly to deliberate relevant matters to ensure that every eligible voter in Sierra Leone is able to register and vote in violence free and fair election.

01/01/1970 | Polling day for bye elections | CEC observed the polling and counting process for the Bye elections for Koinadugu District Council Chairman and Councillor for Ward 155. |
06/10/2021 | CEC announced bye election results | Due to skirmishes during tallying process in Kabala, the Commission suspended tallying to be continued in Freetown. The APC party won the Chairperson and the SLPP won the Councillor bye elections. |
11/10/2021 | CEC travelled to Ghana | This was an invitation from ECOWAS Parliament to discuss the election system. |
19/10/2021 | Meeting with EU Ambassador & British HC on separate occasions | This meeting discussed key election issues emanating from the Koinadugu bye elections. |
20/10/2021 | Meeting with EU - EOM advanced team | The advanced team was to prepare ahead of the EU Team Leader with the aim to look at implementation of the EOM report of 2018. |
27/10/2021 | Meeting with EU MEP | This meeting is a sequel to the advanced team and the MEP clearly outlined his TORs. |

05/11/2021 | Meeting with EU Ambassador | Consequent on the release of the Commission’s Press Statement against the EOM follow up Mission, the EU Ambassador came to have a frank discussion which was very productive. |

11/11/2021 | Meeting with leaders of the APC & SLPP | The meeting was to update the political parties of the findings of the Committee report on the Koinadugu bye elections. |
11/11/2021 | Meeting with IGR | The purpose of the meeting was to discuss and agree on a scorecard designed by the IGR on COVID 19 deliverables that must be achieved during the conduct of future elections. |
13/11/2021 | Monitoring of Polling and Counting processes for bye elections Kenema & Kono | CEC monitored Polling and Counting processes for both ward 069 in Kenema and ward 091 in Kono. |
15/11/2021 | Announcement of results | CEC announced result for Ward 069 in Kenema and countermanded results for ward 091 due to issues with 2 polling stations. |

29/11/2021 | CEC official visit to the Gambia | This was part of a Peer review team with his fellow Commissioners from the sub region to witness the general elections in the Gambia. |
12/12/2021 | CEC attended ECONEC General Assembly in Ghana. | CEC led a delegation to Accra to attend a symposium on Efficient Communication Strategy and also attended the 7th Biennial General Assembly where he was elected 2nd Vice President of ECONEC. |
